Sony’s “Superbad” scored on Friday, chalking up an estimated $12000000 in 2,948 theaters. Among previous R-rated comedy bows in August, “Superbad’s” haul is in sync with the $12200000 generated by 2003’s “American Wedding” on its first Friday, and bests the $7000000 posted by Judd Apatow’s 2005 directorial debut “The 40 Year-Old Virgin.”
